Cryptocurrency transactions often leak metadata when being broadcast. To mitigate these risks, Monero uses Dandelion++. Dandelion++ provides better protection for your IP address than the older flood method. Even still, Dandelion++ is not as comprehensive of a privacy solution as anonymizing networks such as Tor or i2p. This talk walks through several sybil attack examples where the attacker is trying to learn information about the initial sending node.
